Terms and Conditions

-Veterinary Consent: As per the Veterinary Surgeons Act in 1966, all animals receiving Veterinary Physiotherapy must be pre-registered with a Veterinary Practice, and animals requiring physiotherapy must have consent from their Veterinary Surgeon prior to treatment to be in line with both legislation and law. Since 2020, according to the Royal Veterinary College, healthy animals do not now need referrals for ‘maintenance’ treatments but all animals must be registered with a Veterinary Practice. Failure to provide this information prior to the appointment will result in the animal not being seen, but you may still be charged for the appointment.

- Cancellation policy: Free cancellation if appointment cancelled no less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. 50% charge if client cancels appointment within 48 hours of scheduled appointment.

- Disclaimer: Emily Davies Physiotherapy does not take any responsibility for any accident or injury sustained by the owner, animal or person during the physiotherapy session.

-Right to refuse: Emily Davies Physiotherapy has the right to refuse treatment if the animal is deemed inappropriate/ unsafe for physiotherapy assessment e.g., new undiagnosed lameness, infection, contagious diseases or other health/ behavioural concerns. It is the owner's responsibility to declare any changes to the animal's health, or medical conditions between treatments.

-Privacy policy: All client details are strictly bound by client confidentiality within the Veterinary Surgery Act 1966 and Emily Davies Physiotherapy complies with the standards of the Data Protection Act 2018 and general data protection regulation (GDPR).

-Payment: payment is requested the same day of treatment, either cash or BACS transfer is accepted.

-Insurance claims: prior to the appointment, it is the client’s responsibility to check the insurance policy prior to physiotherapy session. Clients are still required to pay upfront where treatment might form as part of an insurance claim. Clients must have referral from their veterinarian and approval from their insurance company prior to physiotherapy treatment. Clients will then send a claims form to their insurance company. Once this has been accepted, your insurance company will reimburse you for the cost of physiotherapy.

-Canine physiotherapy: when possible, please ensure your dog is dry, mud free and there is a clear space for the dog to lay down and have physiotherapy.
